Proposition 8 Follies

Once again my week has been filled with the follies of Proposition 8. Do I mind, not really, in a sense, well maybe just a bit.

It is truly sad when people have to be so involved in the personal lives of others. Groups like NOM preach hate and discrimination against the Gay community, but let's be real on one part, we are fighting for our constitutional right to marry the one we love, but NOM also has the constitutional right to speak their mind about it.

If we want our rights, we must also respect the rights of others, even when we don't agree with them.

Do I mean they have the right to interfere with our ability to marry the one we love, make us second-class citizens ro belittle us just because we are gay?

HELL NO!!!!!

IN my public opinion, these people are nothing more than pathetic, small-minded hate mongers who want to force everyone in the great US of A to live in their fucked-up religious zealot world.

Well my freedom of speech allows me to say "go fuck your selves, you impotent, back woods, pieces of shit".

Yes, I said it and it was my right to do so.

But just as that was my right, they have the same and we must respect their right to say what they want to say. We can only rely on the hope that this country has more intelligent people who believe that equality is more important than personal opinion and who choose to see an end to the oppression of gay rights in this country.

Big hope to balance on, but although I am 100% convinced that society truly sucks in most ways, I try to remain hopeful that one day I will be proven wrong in said assumption.

So let us celebrate the rulings of a well educated, well researched, just Judge Walker and send a prayer that the appellate courts of the 9th circuit and potentially the Supreme Court acknowledges that we are deserving of the same liberties and equality afforded to other Americans.
